Dear friends, fans, venues and followers of Moose Jaw,
Like all good things, one day they must come to an end, and after nearly 10 years together, unfortunately that time has now come for Moose Jaw.
We have had a great time and, like every other band out there, we’ve certainly had our fair share of ups and downs. Thankfully, there were way, way more ups than downs!
Moose Jaw originally started out with Mark, Seft, Chris and Alan, and that was the line-up for a good few years. Then Nic joined our ranks, adding a whole new dimension with keyboards, and the band gradually headed more in the direction of stadium rock covers rather than simply playing whatever we fancied.
Nic eventually left the band and, somewhere along the way, Alex came on board as our permanent Sound Engineer. Chris later left and Rich was recruited on drums.
Life was good, and the gigs did flow aplenty.
Over the years we played some great shows, not only around the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Shropshire, but further afield too. We ventured into Wales and our furthest trip took us all the way to Newcastle upon Tyne.
We mainly played pubs, but we were also fortunate enough to play a fair few festivals, including several that we had the privilege of headlining.
And considering just how many gigs we played over the years, we’re happy to say that there were probably only three or four that we would genuinely class as disasters — which isn’t a bad record!
So, why are we calling it a day?
We’re happy to say that this is a very amicable parting. Quite simply, it feels like we’ve reached the end of our Moose Jaw journey together. We’ve taken the band as far as we feel we can take it, and the time has come for us to move on to other ventures and pastures new.
There are no fallouts, no dramas and no juicy stories to tell — it’s simply time.
So, from all of us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you for coming to our shows, buying our T-shirts and merch, streaming the one and only song we actually managed to release, supporting us, laughing with us and, above everything else, helping to make our Moose Jaw journey one filled with extremely fond memories and a hell of a lot of fun.
It’s been quite a ride, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of it.
